Blood drive held to honor little girl

Area residents came together to show support for a great cause.

On Sunday, March 9, a blood drive was held at the Grand Bay Senior & Community Center to honor five-year-old Tiffany Fontenot.

Fontenot, who suffers from Apert syndrome, will soon have to undergo a major surgery in Birmingham, Alabama.

T-shirts were sold at the blood drive to help raise money for Tiffany’s medical bills.

The syndrome largely affects the skull among other malformations.

A fund has been set up in the girl’s name. Anyone who would like to help, can do so by either going to any Century Bank location and donate to the “Hope For Tiffany” fund, purchase food plates from The Lodge in Grand Bay, or contribute online at

Tiffany’s mother said, she is extremely grateful for all the support and is optimistic about the outcome of Tiffany’s surgery.
