Wal-Mart has announced that its smart phone prices are coming down.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 will now be $49, down from $99. Apple’s sixteen gigabyte iPhone 5S will be $119, down from $145. And the 5C is now $29, down from $45. Customers have to sign a two-year contract with AT&T or Verizon to get the price cut. Also, anyone who buys a Samsung phone with a two-year contract between March 9 and March 22 will get a $50 Wal-Mart gift card.
You might have a hard time getting into Yahoo if you don’t have a log-in. That’s because users were able to access Yahoo from their Google and Facebook accounts. But not any more. Now you’ll have to have a Yahoo ID to log-on. The change is another step in CEO Marissa Mayer’s efforts at reinvigorating Yahoo. The company was once the web’s advertising leader, but has fallen far behind rivals like Google and Facebook in recent years.
And, Facebook is cracking down on guns. A new policy plans to block minors from seeing gun sale postings. The social media site will also pull posts of sales that don’t require a background check. Until now, Facebook only regulated paid ads. But in the next few weeks, the site will delete gun sale posts flagged by users. Facebook is taking similar steps with Instagram.
