Christina Christian is an indie/country artist and songwriter from Foley. She tells Cherish Lombard she’s inspired by the music roots in her family, and got her love for music from her father. She says music came naturally to her.
Christina picked up the guitar when she was 12 years old, and began writing her own music when she was 16. Traveling in the rodeo circuit with her mother, Christina began developing an ear for country music. Christina spent some time at Troy University where she majored in Music Industry. Soon after moving to Troy, Christina decided to change her direction and start her music career in Gulf Shores.
These days the 21 year old plays weekly gigs around the Gulf Coast from Mobile to Perdido Key. She makes frequent trips to Georgia and Tennessee to share her music. She’s been interviewed on 95KSJ and The Uncle Henry Show in Mobile, and her music is now being played on Rick Carter Radio, Jasper Radio, and Homegrown Country on 95KSJ.
Recently, Christina had the opportunity to open for “Girls with Guitars,” an event for St. Jude, which featured Maggie Rose, Cassadee Pope, and Jana Kramer. She plans on becoming a full time singer/songwriter who inspires others through her music. She takes influences from Shania Twain, Sheryl Crowe, Alison Krauss, and Jewel.
