Scott Flannigan to Join WALA-Fox10 as news director

WALA FOX10 and WFNA CW55 announced today the hiring of Scott Flannigan as News Director for FOX10 News. Flannigan comes to FOX10 from WCBD-TV in Charleston, SC where he served as the Director of Digital Journalism.

“Scott is an accomplished news professional with a successful track record in this industry,” said Gary Yoder, President and General Manager of WALA FOX10 and WFNA CW55.  “He also grew up right here on the Gulf Coast and has first-hand knowledge of our community, our weather and our rich culture.”

At WCBD, Flannigan led the station’s news, production and marketing departments. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas.

“I am extremely excited about coming home to lead a talented team of professionals who are committed to keeping Gulf Coast viewers informed,” said Flannigan. “I’m ready to roll up my sleeves, getting to work on serving the community that shaped who I am”

Prior to WCBD, Flannigan served as News Director for KPLC in Lake Charles, LA. He also held news management and producing positions in Florida and Alabama markets. Flannigan is a proud graduate of Auburn University. His first day at WALA FOX10 will be March 10, 2014.
