Friday, February 21, Mobile County District Attorney’s Office made a said arrest in a Yik Yak investigation. They said a 14-year-old was arrested for posting about a shooting at a local school. The juvenile was then taken to the Strickland Youth Center where the suspect will face charges.
The app is supposed to serve as an anonymous message board but it’s location specific and that allowed investigators to get an exact address and cell phone information.
DA Ashley Rich said a total of three threats were made involving McGill-Toolen High School, Saint Paul’s, Murphy High School and UMS-Wright Prepratory School.
