MPD: Man shot while stopped at red light

Mobile police are investigating a homicide Wednesday, February 19.

It happened around 2 a.m. at the Texaco station on the corner of Old Shell Road and Sage Avenue.

Neighbors in the area told FOX10 News they heard loud yelling, then shots were fired.

Authorities said it appears the victim was shot several times as he said in his vehicle. They said he had been stopped at a traffic light on Sage Avenue. Police said the car rolled forward where it stopped when it hit a utility pole.

Officials have not released the name of the man or said if they have any suspects in the case. However, they did say he was 22-years-old.

Police are asking the public to call 251-208-7211 if they have any information on the shooting.
