A local business owner is trying to get back on her feet after she said crooks stole her personal and rented landscaping equipment.

Veronica Wilson owns Roni’s Tropical Nursery and Landscape off Laurendine and Rangline roads. The nursery is a life-long dream of Wilsons and is set to open in a few months.

She was working on landscaping the property.

She said Monday, February 17,  burglars stole a rented trailer with a Toro Dingo with trencher attachment and backhoe attachment inside.

“I’m going to be liable for this property. Through them. My stuff, I can overcome. I can work doing maintenance and I can buy more. But i can’t overcome $25,000,” said Wilson.

Wilson also said thieves raided her shed and took equipment she owned that’s worth around $6,000.

“This is not the type living where you get rich. I mean look at my hands. This is not… this is a hard living but it’s something that I love. My God, it’s in my blood,” said Wilson.

Mobile Police are investigating the case.
