The Murphy High School gym was the setting for the latest HiQ academic competition, the first of three this week.
Teams from Murphy, Williamson and McGill-Toolen Catholic took part in Tuesday morning’s match. They were quizzed on 16 categories from current events to advanced math and science.
McGill-Toolen had the lead at halftime. While Murphy launched a comeback in the second half, McGill-Toolen was able to pull ahead and win.
The final score was McGill-Toolen 52, Murphy 39 and Williamson 0.
McGill-Toolen has completed all 3 rounds of competition and has the highest cumulative score so far, but second place Baker still has one more match to play, while Bryant still has 2.
