Pink Heals event held at The Wharf

Sam Jackson there are still a few Boston Butts available for sale at a very successful event to raise funds for cancer research.

The Pink Heals event at the Wharf in Orange Beach was held today.  Members of the Orange Beach, Foley, Gulf Shores and Daphne Fire Fighter Associations participated.

Of the 400 Boston Butts, prepared, Jackson said about forty were left.

20 year-old Hunter Lanford is a special guest at this event.  Lanford is battling Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia.

LifeSouth Community Blood Center Bloodmobile was also hand for anyone who wanted to donate blood on this day.

In addition to all the food, fun and abundant sunshine, “Cindy” the Chapter’s Pink Fire Truck was also on display.

Today’s event was hosted by the Lower Alabama Chapter of the Guardians of the Ribbon.  Guests were encouraged to sign the fire truck in memory of or in support of a loved one who has been affected by this disease.
