Jim Byrd from Safe Harbor Financial joined us on Studio10 with a look at the current and future state of the stock market.

Below is a look at some of the questions and answered discussed on Studio10.

1. What is happening with the Stock Market?

No one knows for sure, but the S&P 500 was down 0.6 % over the first five trading days this year. According to most indicators this means the odds of the market ending 2014 with a gain are only about 50/50, compared to 74% chance when the first 5 days are positive. Also, according to the Stock Trader’s Almanac, the stock market in January has correctly forecasted the major trend for the market 81.6 percent of the time. Based on date since 1928, whenever the month of January is up, the S&P has posted gains of 13%. But when it is down the rates fall to minus 2.3 percent.

2. What else should we look at in the market?

The volatility. It is occurring more rapidly and swings are becoming larger and larger. We are currently concerned with deflation and inflation is being used to combat this deflation. But, this means that one day we are going to have to deal with an inflation crisis.

3. Why is the government talking about a recovery?

Our country and Wall Street are trying to get the American people to believe we are in a recovery, but if we were would we still be printing one trillion dollars per year? Does Obamacare seem like it is working? Are the majority of our college students graduating with good jobs? Is family income increasing or decreasing

4. Is the market crash that occurred in 2007 and 2008 over? And, what can they do to make sure they are in a safe place?

If you believe that, you are not correct. The crash is still coming! I know that I have been saying that for quite a while now, but whoever thought the government would print as much money as they did. It’s insane!
You need to see a financial planner that who has a safe place for your successful investment future. Why should you lose money if you don’t have too?
