The Third Annual “Race to the Top of the Tower” will take place Thursday, Feb. 20, at Turquoise Place. The stairwell race, which is being sponsored by Spectrum Resorts and Gulf Coast Event Group, is open to all local and regional firefighters, police, EMS, military personnel and the general public.
Come out and test your fitness level against our local heroes who will be displaying superhuman feats of strength and stamina as they sprint up 31 floors of the Turquoise Place east tower for bragging rights to the “Top of the Tower Champion” title.
Participants can sign up at their station, register online at www.GulfCoastHalf.com, or at Turquoise Place prior to the 10 a.m. start on Feb. 20. The cost is $15 per runner with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting the Special Olympics of Alabama. All participants will receive a commemorative shirt and refreshments at the conclusion of the event.
Race to the Top of the Tower is the kick-off event for the Gulf Coast Half Marathon weekend.
