MCSO: Potentially stolen property found during arrests

Good news for some of you who are victims of theft. Mobile County sheriff’s deputies said they are sorting through $75,000 to $80,000 worth of recovered stolen property.

Here is a complete list, provided by MCSO, of the items recovered:

  • (6) Gas generators
  • (2) Cameras
  • (2) Safes
  • (2) Riding lawn mowers
  • (2) Computers
  • (2) Gaming systems
  • (2) DVD players
  • (2) IPods
  • (2) Air compressors
  • (2) Gas scooters
  • (2) Residential A/C units
  • (5) Gas Blowers
  • (11) Weed Eaters/ Trimmers
  • (4) Gas edgers
  • (4) Outdoor heaters
  • (2) Shop vacs

“The detectives now are in the process of trying to identify the owners of the property so we can return it to them. They will do that by running the serial numbers and reviewing reports,” said Sheriff Sam Cochran.

Cochran said five suspects were stealing the items and selling them for drugs.

Leona Marshall, John Marshall, Kawarren Pugh and Lakisha McCovery and Pamela Franklin were arrested for drug charges including chemical endangerment of a child, possession of controlled substance, and marijuana trafficking.

Jail records show the suspects lived in the Grand Bay and Theodore area. Deputies believe some of the items were stolen from southern Mobile County and in the City of Mobile.
