DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. – The good times were rolling on Dauphin Island Saturday as the second parade of the Mardi Gras season hit the streets.
The Island Mystics Parade was greeted by perfect weather and an eager crowd Saturday afternoon.
Tasha and her family were ready for some Mardi Gras revelry.
“2014 Mardi Gras, we’re here, we’re ready to catch some beads, we are crunk we’re about get wound up. Come on guys were out here,” Tasha said.
A huge crowd lined Beinville Blvd hoping to catch their favorite throws.
“I’m ready, I’m ready to get some beads and some moon pies,” Stacey Muller said.
“Beads, teddy bears, the good stuff yeah,” Iris Steele said.
ISteele came with her own crowd.
“Well I brought about five kids and about ten grownups,” Steele said.
This was Stacey Mueller and Becky Whitecottons first parade on the Island, and they made sure they were dressed for the occasion.
“I came to enjoy the parade on a great, beautiful day,” Mueller said.
“Beautiful weather, it’s sunny hopefully I don’t blind anybody with my hat,” Whitecotton said.
Mobile’s Mardi Gras parade schedule kicks off next Friday with the Conde Cavaliers.
