In celebration of national Wear Red Day, the women of Alabama Go Red for Women met for their annual luncheon to promote heart health.
Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women in the United States. The event featured a number of information booths and speakers, all working to inform the women and men about heart health and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
“We have control of our heart, we have control of our health and it’s really up to us,” Laureen Lynn, chair of Go Red for Women, said. “And [if] we take control of ourselves, we take care of our families.”
All of the proceeds from Friday’s event go to the University of South Alabama for heart research
