The City of Chickasaw is offering an amnesty period beginning February 5 and going until Monday, March 31.

If anyone believes they owe fines or have outstanding warrants, this is the time to take care of it, according to the city. The city is offering amnesty with all Failure to Appear warrants if the individuals pay off all outstanding fines.

The qualifying offenses include traffic citations, parking tickets, misdemeanor offenses, and driver’s license offenses. If a person has lost their license for non-payment of fines, this program will allow them to pay their fines and cost then pay a reinstatement fee to the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

Anyone who believes they may have an active warrant should come by or call the Court Clerk of Chickasaw at 251-452-6453.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

After March 31, the program will no longer be valid, and the consequences will include prosecution and enforcement of failure to appear charges, additional fines and possible jail time, according to the city.
