Preliminary hearing held in fast food crash case

The family of 66-year-old Martha Hinton lined the front row of the courtroom this morning for a preliminary hearing for Maurice White.

White is charged with manslaughter after police said he lost control of his truck and crashed into Hinton’s vehicle while she was parked at a fast food restaurant on Schillinger Road in January.

Police said White was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Today the judge set restrictions on White’s bond including alcohol tests at least twice a week.

Hinton’s son spoke with FOX10 News after the hearing. Jamie Hinton said it was hard to see White but said his family remains focused on this not happening again to another family.

Hear more from the Hinton family and what’s next for White today on FOX10 News at 5 p.m.
