Mobile Fire-Rescue said one person died and another escaped without injury in an overnight fire.
It happened around 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, January 4 at a home on 105 Green Aly.
Fire officials said they found heavy fire coming from the front of the home. They were able to get a crew in and locate the victim.
When they forced open a door to a bedroom, they found the 53-year-old man face down on the floor. He was taken to USA Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The victim’s mother escaped without injury, according to officials, and was treated on the scene.
Fire officials said the fire remains under investigation, but it seems to be accidental.
