Airbus has posted three new job positions for its assembly line in Mobile, Alabama.
The aircraft manufacturer is looking for a Supply Chain Surveillance Coordinator. This person will be responsible for ensuring all internal and external Quality Management procedures are met for services provided to the assembly line during aircraft manufacture. The position requires experience with quality inspection of components, systems and processes, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and more. A minimum of nine months training abroad is required.
Airbus is also looking for an Information Technology (IT) manager and multiple IT Specialists to form the team establishing and supporting the computer systems and networks for the assembly line. Project management skills and a degree in IT are desirable for this candidate.

On July 2, 2012, Airbus announced it is building an assembly line for its A320 Family of aircraft in Mobile. The groundbreaking for the assembly line was on April 8, 2013, and construction is underway. Hiring for manufacturing jobs will continue throughout 2014. Aircraft production will begin in 2015, with the first Mobile-assembled aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2016.
