Super Bowl Fashion

Wondering what to wear to all the big Super Bowl parties this weekend? Stylist and blogger Kristen Tella shows Cherish Lombard three outfits that are cute and comfortable! Here’s her advice on how to get the looks!

Outfit #1: The Seattle Sweetheart

Just because you’re watching a masculine sports game with the guys doesn’t mean you can’t dress with some feminine flair.  Start with a neutral, such as a navy blue dress, and add a pop of color with a scarf or a fun pair of tights.  Finish the look with classic riding boots and denim vest; Sleeveless jackets are very popular right now and offer extra warmth without being too bulky.  If you plan to watch the game at a sports bar, I suggest wearing a cross body bag so that you have your hands free for cheering and don’t have to worry about setting it down somewhere.

Outfit #2: The Bronco Beauty

Orange is not for the faint of heart: it’s a bold color that commands attention.  For those of you who will be cheering on the Bronco’s during Super Bowl XLVIII, look no further than your own closet for inspiration.  In North Florida, orange and blue is a very popular color scheme and it’s easy to find in practically any store.  Start your look with a pair of dark blue skinny-jeans and a plain white t-shirt. Add a bright orange necklace for sparkle or even an orange bag if you can find one.  Suede booties are everywhere this season and add height without discomfort.  Complete the look with a classic trench coat: a staple that everyone should have in their wardrobe.

Outfit #3: The Loyal Patriot

While I have come to terms with the fact that my beloved Patriots will not be playing in this year’s big game, I couldn’t resist styling an outfit using one of my favorite t-shirts.  If you happen to be a true fan of either the Broncos or the Seahawks, break out your most preferred jersey and wear it with pride!  Colored jeans were very popular a few seasons ago so it should be easy to find an appropriate pair in the back of your closet.  A leather jacket toughens up the look and leopard ballet flats show a hint of your wild side.

Kristen started her blog, “Sunshine State of Style,” because she wears a military uniform every day and wanted a way to express her love of fashion.  She says it’s her creative outlet and a way for her to get ideas on personal style and interior design out into the world.  She focuses on affordable clothes that the everyday woman has access to, because it shouldn’t take a lot of money to have a great wardrobe.

Kristen says she doesn’t have a set style, because what she wears depends on how she feels.  The one thing she says is consistent is her love of color. Bright hues make her happy and she says they keep her skin from looking washed out. Kristen says no one should ever feel confined by what fashion critics say is acceptable. Instead, wear what makes you feel good because that’s what personal style is all about!
