THEODORE, Ala. (WALA) – Davidson High School moved into second place in the HiQ academic competition in Mobile County on Friday, January 31.
In a match that was postponed because of the winter storm, Davidson’s team had double its closest competitor at halftime. Davidson then doubled its own score in the second half.
The final score was Davidson 48, Theodore 28 and Vigor 16.
Here are the standings at the end of the first round of competition:

B.C. Rain 18
At the end of three rounds of competition, the top scoring team earns a bye to the HiQ championship. The second to seventh place teams compete in a semi-final series to determine the two teams that meet in the championship match.
The top three teams at the end of the season win cash awards for their schools of $2,000, $1,500 or $1,000 for use in scholastic programs.
