After briefings with the National Weather Service, coastal and inland cities in Baldwin County are preparing for harsh winter conditions.
The storm, officials say, could bring in several inches of snow, sleet and freezing rain.
Local municipalities have already begun getting ready to close roads, preparing sand to combat icy conditions and trimming trees to prevent power outages.
Officials with coastal cities, like Fairhope, are expecting slightly warmer temperatures than inland cities. However, they say are preparing just the same.
Inland areas like Bay Minette and Robertsdale say they aren’t taking any chances with expectations that they could get the chilliest temps.
