Baldwin County Emergency Management Director Mitchell Sims told Fox10News Sunday his office is aware of the possibility of snow, sleet and icy road conditions Tuesday and Wednesday. Sims said he will be meeting with staff members Monday morning to determine what actions may have to be taken to prepare for the severe weather, especially in regards to Baldwin County Public Schools.
David Roberts with the Mobile County Emergency Management Agency told us their staff will be meeting early Monday morning to make decisions on how to prepare for the possibility of snow and sleet. They will alert school systems in Mobile County should weather conditions warrant any school closings.
Martha Peek, Superintendent of the Mobile County School System says their schools will be open Monday morning. A decision on Tuesday and Wednesday will be announced at 12 p.m Monday.
FOX10News contacted EMA offices in Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Monroe and Washington counties. The Conecuh County EMA operator told FOX10News any decisions regarding preparations and school closings will be made Monday morning. The other EMA agencies were not available for comment.
