Alabama linebacker and Mobile-native, C.J. Mosley will not play in the 2014 Reese’s Senior Bowl in his hometown. The Theodore High School graduate is projected to be taken in the top-10 of the NFL draft.
According to reports, Mosley’s agent, Jimmy Sexton said that Mosley will not play in the all-star game to secure his high draft stock. Reports said that the decision was not an easy one because of his ties to the city of Mobile.
Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage said earlier this week that he didn’t think Mosley would play in the game. This announcement comes just two days after Alabama quarterback and Mobile-native, AJ McCarron denied his invitation to the Senior Bowl.
The game will feature a few local players:
- Jay Prosch, Auburn Fullback (UMS-Wright)
- Jimmie Ward, Northern Illinois Safety (Davidson)
- Solomon Patten, Florida Wide Receiver (Murphy)
The 2014 Reese’s Senior Bowl will kick off Saturday, January 25th at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Game time if set for 3pm.
