An accused puppy killer turned himself in to Bay Minette Police just days after being profiled on FOX10 News. He’s already out on $1,500 bond hours after his arrest.
Demond Reese, 25, is charged with first degree cruelty to a dog after investigators say he repeatedly sliced a 3 month old puppy with a box cutter out of spite.
On Tuesday, January 14, FOX10 exclusively spoke with Keyiana Anderson who owned the dog named Diamond.
Anderson said she met Reese online and they had only been dating in person for about three months when she broke off the relationship.
Investigators say Reese showed up at Anderson’s home last month in Bay Minette, looking to get back together.
During an argument, Reese reportedly told his ex-girlfriend that she “loved the dog more” and left.
Investigators believe Reese instead went to the backyard of the residence, tied up the puppy, and began cutting it repeatedly across the stomach with a box cutter.
Anderson says she found the dog barely alive outside.
Little Diamond died once police and animal control arrived on the scene.
FOX10 News has tried repeatedly to call and visit Reese for his side of the story.
